Claire Hams MBACP | Psychodynamic Counsellor

“Registering with Frontline19 was a streamlined process and I felt very supported by the team. My first client was matched to me based on my experience. Having worked for twelve years for the NHS, it’s a privilege to be able to offer therapeutic support to an NHS frontline nurse and give something back at this time of great need.”

You could help by offering:

  • One hour of Counselling/Therapy per week
  • Supervision for our amazing volunteers

FAQs

What will happen next?

Your registration will be sent to our therapist support coordinator, Mel. She will complete your verification process and if you meet our requirements you’ll receive an email and your account will be approved.

How long will it take to be matched up?

We are a small busy team and once your account has been approved, it can take up to 7 days, for you to receive details of your first referral. This is dependent on if we have a waiting list or not.

Can I choose which sort of frontline worker I’m matched to?

No, we need all our therapists to be open to working with any NHS or frontline worker who needs support.

What if the therapeutic relationship isn’t working?

These things sometimes happen and want to support you too, so please let us know if it really isn’t working and we can assign your client to a different therapist. We can then look at sending you a new referral.

Do you offer supervision?

Yes, we do! We want to support you as much as we can and when you joining Frontline19 as a volunteer you are part of the team. We have some amazing Supervisors and also facilitate peer group supervision as well as good CPD opportunities.

We also have a free Facebook group where there are therapists offering free supervision although we don’t discuss clients in there. It’s a space to share ideas and support each other. Please contact Mel on [email protected] for more details.

Want a break from volunteering?
