We are looking for qualified, experienced therapists, counsellors and psychologists who wish to offer their skills and expertise throughout the coronavirus pandemic to support our NHS key workers online. If you can spare even one hour a week, please get in touch.
Offer your help
Our doctors and nurses are effectively in a war zone as they fight this pandemic. They may benefit greatly from your emotional support and your professional skills. Many are having to experience things that they are not prepared for. Help minimise their suffering and maximise their capacity to support others.
You could help by offering
Trauma Release Work
This is a time to ask the question, "what can I offer?". We understand as therapists, counsellors and psychologists that you may already be concerned about your finances and loss of earnings. As therapists ourselves, we would never normally advocate for offering free therapy. However these are extraordinary times. Even one hour a week could give a key NHS worker an opportunity to allow themselves to receive some undivided care and attention.
Therapists, Counsellors & Psychologists.
Thank you so much for offering your services. This can make a big difference to the lives of key workers on the front line of our NHS.
You need to be a qualified professional who is comfortable with holding space for others to process painful, challenging or traumatic experiences. You are able to be flexible with appointment times to allow shift workers to connect when they are able, while setting and maintaining your own boundaries with the client. You are able to run sessions on Skype, Zoom, FaceTime or telephone, and you may be also available for email check in.
Please fill out the form opposite. We need some information to ensure a positive and safe experience for clients and therapists.
We will contact you by telephone or email for an informal chat and to ask for clarification around your qualifications.
Then we will match you with a NHS COVID-19 frontline worker and offer you some simple guidelines of how to proceed.
The agreement will be between you and the client, as it is any therapeutic relationship.
We look forward to hearing from you.
